Summer is in full swing and so is the summer growing season. This week we’ve sourced nearly 100% of our vegetables within BC, many of which grew only a hand- ful of kilometres away. Most of this week’s boxes feature Okanagan red haven peaches, local spray free corn, and BC cherries, while others contain local spray free kale and romaine lettuce, and local patty pan squashes. In order to keep prices down as food costs increase we’re trying to reduce extras in our system. Please note, some produce may be substituted for others in your box as a result but don’t worry, you’ll always get the same great value. Don’t forget to like us on facebook. This week, the GFB Team brings you a range of tasty boxes that will find you soaking up the summer rays and tending to your backyard grill. Notable items include local zucchini (perfect for the grill) and BC roma and beefstake tomatoes. As we approach the end of July, our percentage of local and organic produce in each box continues to rise. For those craving sweet summer treats, we have both BC cherries and organic blueberries.
